MYOFASCIAL RELEASE THERAPY

Myofascial Release (MFR), like many alternative therapies, promotes the philosophy that the mind and body work together to maintain health.

Fascia are fibrous bands or connective tissue that surround and protect every other tissue, tendon, muscle, bone, ligament and organ of the body. When the fascial network is traumatized it is pulled and twisted out of alignment. This can result in symptoms distant to the injury. Any localised treatments will therefore only produce limited or temporary results.

MFR is a specialised physical therapy which can help identify and treat the source of the injury allowing the patient to heal at the deepest level and increasing energy levels.

Myofascial Release can help with:

  • Chronic pain, tension and muscular spasms
  • Restoring muscular function and postural alignment
  • Dizziness and vertigo
  • Backache and pelvic imbalance
  • Menstrual discomfort
  • Headaches
  • Jaw discomfort, teeth grinding & clenching
  • Plantar fasciitis & heel spurs
  • Sciatica
  • Sporting injuries
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Tennis and Golfers elbow
  • Whiplash
  • Post surgical & injury scarring
